Bench Daily holds nothing that could identify you. No address, no account, no list. What little passes through is set out below, in full.

What we collect

No account, no sign-up, no mailing list. We do not know your name and we have no way to contact you. There is nothing here to sell and nobody to sell it to.

The one exception, stated plainly: our visitor counter briefly sees your IP address, as every web server on earth does. It is not stored, not logged against you, and not used to build any profile — but an IP address is personal data, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

• Anonymous page counts — via GoatCounter, which sets no cookies and builds no profile. It hashes your IP with a salt that rotates, solely to avoid counting the same visit twice, and discards it. We can see that a page was viewed. We cannot see that you viewed it, and we could not find out if we tried. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in knowing whether anyone is playing (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). You can object — write to us, or simply block the script; nothing on the site depends on it.
• Your game progress — scores, streaks, the books on your Opus shelf. Kept in your own browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Clear your browser and it is gone, from everywhere, permanently.
• Your daily reminder, if you asked for one — a calendar file, built on your device and handed to your own calendar. It is never sent to us. We do not know you took it.

If that ever changes

If we ever add a mailing list, this page will say so before a single address is collected, and nothing will be collected without you typing it in and confirming it by email.

Cookies

None. There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to. Local storage is used to remember your own game, and that is not a cookie and never leaves your browser.
